Autistic Spectrum and those with Sensory and Communication difficulties:

The Ambassador theatre group know that communication is key.
We want all our patrons to have a good experience while in our theatres, so we now have a visual tool for parents and companions to use with children and adults on the autistic spectrum and/or with Sensory and Communication difficulties.

We have been researching the benefits of using visual stories and would like to offer a visual story for your visit to the Ambassadors Theatre. We know some of our patrons find social situations difficult and we understand that we are all unique.

Please note: We are currently experiencing intermittent problems with our hearing enhancement system, please contact the venue directly ahead of your visit, or arrive at least 30 minutes prior to curtain.

Venue Access Information

Due to spatial restriction within the theatre, we have no step free access. Patrons need to be able to transfer from a  wheelchair and climb 5 steps up from the foyer in the Circle. Our staff are always available to provide assistance and will store the wheelchair in the foyer during the performance, however for safety reasons they will not be permitted to lift patrons.

There is an infrared system working throughout the auditorium with both loop and conventional headsets. Headsets must be booked in advance and a deposit is required. Upon arrival, please speak to a member of staff to receive your headset.

Assistance Dogs are permitted in the auditorium and staff can dog sit by prior arrangement. Dogs will be looked after in the manager’s office. Please inform the box office at the time of booking.

There is no adapted toilet in the venue.

Please note there is one step to access the Box Office.
